Endodontists are dentists with special training in endodontic procedures. Endodontists relieve pain and save teeth. Patients who have had root canal treatment performed by an Endodontist are six times more likely to describe it as "painless" treatment. As an endodontic specialist, Dr. Kerr has dedicated his career to performing routine root canals, bonded core restorations (the permanent filling placed after the root canal is complete), as well as difficult and very complex endodontic procedures, including endodontic surgery.
Dr. Kerr uses techniques taught only in the most select dental post-graduate programs. These techniques and the digital imaging software he uses, enable him to see things that otherwise might not be detected. New optics such as surgical binoculars and microscopes provide greater vision and accuracy in removing the pulp and locating additional canals. Endoscopy offers light and magnification during Endodontic microsurgery. Miniature instruments and ultrasonic handpieces all facilitate precise treatment.
